Krishnamurti's lectures and books have been a source of the highest levels of inspiration and in particular, his insistance that we must use Meditation to demolish forever, the deeply ingrained attachment to society's imposed indoctrinations of religion, race, political affiliations, destructive desires.
Krishmamurti was most insistent that he did not want followers or to found a new spiritiual movement. He advised us that Meditation was not only the only technique to dissolve stress and allow the mind to reach beneficial modes of quietness but that by living meditatively, moment by moment during activity, we would, in time, develop the necessary awareness to appreciate our own Alpha and the significance of the relationship between The Knower, The Process of Knowing and The Known.
Bernard Levin conducted a BBC 2 televised interview with Krishnamurti on June 20 1981 and this changed my way of thinking in many ways. The interview may be watched on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1AvljMbU8c
I have 10 books of his and the perhaps most notable informative, are The Second Krishnamurti Reader, edited by Mary Lutyens, published by Penguin and The Quest of the Quiet Mind, edited by Stuart Holroyd, published by Aquarian Press.
Krishnamurti says that the ultimate goal is to find that which is completely sacred, that which is totally uncontaminated by thought.
