Preface

If I have learned anything of lasting value during this rich and varied lifespan, it may be best summarised by an ancient aphorism from the North American Indians - Take the long drink of Silence, morning and evening - Sioux tribal saying.

I meet a growing number of intelligent, open-minded individuals who, quietly and without fanfare, embrace this precious, eternal gift. These fortunate pioneers have integrated this natural, age-old teaching into their busy and demanding modern lifestyles, with exceptional results for themselves and, as an unintended by-product, for all Mankind.

This digital blackboard comprises interlinked chapters, pages and images which highlight what Maslow1 calls Peak Experiences. The net result of these insights, in some strange and intriguing way, all appear to relate back to this beautiful sutra and to my very first dynamic memory.

After a period of 28 years, guided by a succession of my individual Peak Experiences, I was taught the gentle technique of how to enjoy the long drink of Silence and also, both the exact location and source of this inexhaustible well.

If any individual identifies with the value of this viewpoint through direct experience and wishes to contribute to the sharing and dissemination of this accrued wisdom, please leave feedback via the blog.
